Understanding your results and feedback

This guide is for learners practising with SimChat.

When you finish a scenario, SimChat takes you through marking, any questions, and then your results. What you see depends on how the scenario was set up.

Marking your conversation

If the scenario is marked against a checklist, you'll reach the marking step after the conversation.

In a practice scenario, you choose how it's marked:

  • Self mark - review the transcript and tick the checklist items you completed
  • AI marking - let the AI mark the checklist for you. You can review and adjust the result afterwards.

In an assessment scenario, the AI marks the conversation automatically and the checklist isn't shown to you.

Your score is the percentage of checklist items completed.

Answering questions

Some scenarios include follow-up questions. Type your answer and submit it. In practice scenarios, you may then see a model answer and be asked to mark your own answer as correct or incorrect.

AI feedback

On your results page you can ask for AI feedback - a written summary of how you did, based on your conversation. Select Generate feedback to create it, then View to read it.

The conversation needs to be long enough (a few exchanges) for the AI to give meaningful feedback.

Your results page

The Summary page brings everything together. Depending on the scenario, it can show:

  • Your score
  • The duration of the conversation
  • Your questions results
  • AI feedback
  • Feedback from assessor, if a member of staff has reviewed your session
  • The full transcript

You can download your results as a PDF, or select Re-do to try the scenario again.

Feedback from your organisation

A member of staff may review your session and leave feedback. When they do, you'll receive an email, and the feedback appears on your results page under Feedback from assessor.

Your activity history

Select My activity in the sidebar to see all your past sessions, your scores and how long each took. You can reopen any session to review it, or download its transcript.
