Exporting transcripts and activity reports
SimChat lets you export transcripts and activity data for assessment records, portfolios and reporting. You do this from Activity → Sessions in the sidebar.
Exporting a single transcript
- Go to Activity → Sessions
- Open the session you want
- Export the transcript as a PDF or as plain text
The PDF includes the transcript along with the score and feedback for that session. Single transcripts are not restricted by plan.
Bulk exports
Above the sessions table there is a start date, an end date, a format dropdown and an Export button. Set the date range, choose a format, then select Export:
- Spreadsheet - an Excel workbook with an overview sheet and one sheet per conversation containing the full transcript. Best for your own analysis
- Transcript files - a ZIP of plain-text transcripts, one file per session. Best for portfolio submissions and external reporting
- PDF report - a summary of usage over the period
The export respects the filters you have applied, so filtering by cohort or scenario first gives you exactly the sessions you want. The Hide staff switch also applies, which is useful when you don't want your own test runs in an assessment record.
Exporting people rather than sessions
- Users page - Export users downloads your learner list with their cohorts, matching whatever filters are applied
- Staff page - Export staff does the same for staff members
- Cohorts - Export cohort on a cohort's page downloads its users and staff, including sub-cohort learners and inherited staff, with a column saying which cohort each row comes from
Curriculum coverage exports
Curriculum coverage reports are exported separately, as Excel or PDF, from the coverage page. See Tracking curriculum coverage.
