Setting per-user minute limits

Manage limits at: Users (in the sidebar)

Audio and video minutes are shared across your organisation. To stop a few learners from using the whole balance, you can cap how many audio and video minutes each learner can use.

By default, learners have no individual limit and draw from the shared organisation balance.

Setting a limit for a learner

  1. Go to Users in the sidebar
  2. Find the learner. Their audio and video usage is shown as used / limit, or Unlimited
  3. Select Edit minute limits
  4. Enter a number of Video minutes and Audio minutes, or tick Unlimited for either
  5. Select Save

Setting limits when you invite learners

You can also set default minute limits on a user invite, so everyone who joins through that link starts with the same allowance. See Inviting staff members and users.

What learners see

When a learner has a limit, their remaining audio and video minutes are shown on their Dashboard. If they use up their allocation, they are asked to contact their organisation administrator to increase it.

Sending an AI avatar into a Teams, Google Meet or Zoom call draws on the same video allocation, so a learner who has used up their video minutes cannot start a group call either. See Using an AI avatar in a Teams, Zoom or Google Meet call.

Per-user limits don't add minutes to your organisation - they divide up the shared balance. To increase the total available, top up on the Minutes page. See Understanding audio and video minutes.
