Creating your organisation account

To get started with SimChat:

Visit https://simchat.ai and click Join for free
Enter your organisation name and your details
Choose your industry sector and preferred language
Set your password and agree to the terms
Check your email for a verification link

Once you verify your email, you'll be taken directly to your organisation's dashboard.

Creating scenarios using the scenario creator

The scenario creator allows you to build scenarios step by step using an interactive editor. It guides you through defining the scenario type, writing the script, adding a checklist and configuring how learners will interact with the AI character.

You can save your scenario as a draft at any time. When you are ready to make it available to your learners, select Publish.

Key details

Start by entering the core information about your scenario.

Scenario type

Choose the scenario type. This determines how the AI character behaves and how the conversation unfolds. SimChat includes five scenario types by default (history taking, counselling, customer service, interview and explanation).

Organisations can also create their own custom scenario types if they need more control over the AI behaviour.

Title, description and icon

Add a title and description. These will be visible to learners before they start the scenario. You can also choose an optional icon to help identify the scenario in lists and collections.

Interaction modes

Select how learners can interact with the AI character:

Creating your first scenario

Scenarios are the heart of SimChat. Each scenario sets up a simulated conversation by defining the AI character’s personality, the context and the goals for the learner.

As an organisation owner, you can create scenarios and publish them for your learners to use. You can write scenarios yourself or generate them with AI.

Scenario components

Every scenario includes:

Title and description - What the scenario is about
Scenario type - The type of conversation (e.g. medical history taking, customer service scenario)
User instructions - What the learner sees before starting the scenario. Explains the context and objectives.
Script - The AI character's background, personality, and knowledge. This is what powers the AI's responses.
Checklist - Assessment criteria for evaluating learner performance
Questions (optional) - Follow-up questions asked after the conversation
Resources (optional) - Additional resources for the learner

Creating a new scenario

Go to Scenarios in the sidebar
Click Create scenario
Complete each section of the scenario wizard:

Basic details - Title, type, and description
Instructions - What you want learners to do
Script - The AI character's comple

Creating and managing user groups

User groups help you organise users and control access to scenarios and collections.

Groups are useful for:

Organising users by cohort/module (e.g. “2025 intake”)
Restricting scenarios for selected groups of learners

|| Setting up groups is optional. By default, all users who join your organisation can access all published scenarios.

Creating a group

Go to Groups in the sidebar
Select Create group
Name your group (e.g. “Cohort 2025”)
Save the group

Add members manually from the group detail page
Create an invite link that automatically adds users to this group

Once created, you can:

Reviewing learner activity

You can review user activity to understand how your learners is using SimChat and to monitor engagement with your scenarios.

This includes viewing session transcripts, overall scores, session durations and seeing how individual scenarios are being used.

The Activity section provides an overview of how your organisation is using SimChat. It includes:

Overall statistics for your organisation, such as the number of conversations completed
A list of user sessions that you can open and review in detail

You can filter and search user sessions to find specific conversations or review activity for particular learners.

Reviewing individual conversations

You can review any individual conversation completed by a learner. To do this, select the relevant session under Conversations.

When you open a session, you will see:

The full transcript between the learner and the AI
The learner’s answers to any post-scenario questions (if these were added)
The learner’s overall score, automarked by the AI against your checklist

This view allows you to assess the learner’s performance and review the interaction in detail.

Leaving feedback

You can leave feedback on any learner’s session. To do this, select Review on the conversation you want to comment on. Enter your feedback in the text box provided and save it.
