Getting started with SimChat
SimChat lets you create AI-powered conversation simulations for training and assessment. Get started for free at: https://simchat.ai
This guide takes you from creating your organisation to running scenarios with your learners. For a general overview first, see Introduction to SimChat.
Creating your organisation
- Visit https://simchat.ai and select Try for free
- Enter your organisation name and your details
- Choose your industry sector and preferred language
- Set your password and agree to the terms
- Check your email for a verification link
Once you verify your email you'll land on your organisation's dashboard.
Your dashboard
After signing in you'll land on your Dashboard, the central hub for creating scenarios, checking learner activity and configuring your organisation.
The sidebar gives you:
- Scenarios - your scenarios, plus Review queue, Templates, Collections, AI behaviours, Tags and Media library
- Users and Cohorts - the people in your organisation and how they're organised
- Staff - staff members, invites and a Roles explained reference
- Activity - Sessions for individual transcripts and Analytics for the aggregate picture
- Curriculum - frameworks and coverage reporting
- Plan and Minutes - your subscription, and your audio and video balances
- Settings - Account settings for you, Organisation settings for the organisation
What you see depends on your role. Cohort leads, assessors and authors get a smaller sidebar scoped to their cohorts.

Setting up SimChat
Work through these steps to get ready for your learners:
- Learn the basics. See Creating your first scenario for what a scenario is and how to build one, and Understanding roles in SimChat for how the roles differ
- Configure your organisation. Open Settings → Organisation settings to set your name, country and default language, and to review your policies
- Build a scenario. Write one in the editor, generate one with AI, or import one from a library
- Add your people. Invite staff and learners, optionally organising learners into cohorts first. See Inviting staff members and users
- Prepare to deploy. Test your network, environment and microphones before using SimChat with learners. See Preparing to deploy SimChat
- Review and scale. Check learner activity and upgrade when you need voice, video or more capacity. See Reviewing user activity and transcripts and Upgrading your plan
